ARA BILLING

American Radiology Associates (ARA) is a private practice of radiologists. We offer subspecialized imaging expertise to patients through our contracted facilities across North Texas. ARA bills for imaging services under the entity name American Radiology Consultants (ARC). MSN Healthcare solutions provides the billing services for ARA and Click2Pay is their online patient portal.

You may have received a text or email from CLICK2PAY, this is from our billing office regarding an action needed on your account. For example, a balance might be remaining for the physician services provided during your recent visit. If you would rather not click on that text message link, you can use one of the two options above to make a payment.

Our radiologists provide physician support for many hospitals and clinics in the region. When imaging is performed at any of those outside locations, one of our radiologists will review and interpret the images, providing a dictated report to your referring physician.

The radiology professional (reading) bill is separate from the hospital/clinic (examination) billing. You are receiving this bill for the services provided by the radiologist. This charge is separate from the hospital or imaging center bill.

For imaging procedures, there are typically two components that are billed: the technical fee and the professional fee.

The technical fee is billed by the hospital or imaging center at which you had the procedure performed. This covers the fee for the equipment, the technologist assisting with the procedure, nursing staff, etc.

The professional fee is billed by us, the radiologists. This is the fee that we charge for our professional interpretation of your exam and the report that we provide you and your doctor.

If you have any questions about the technical fee, please contact the hospital or imaging center where you had the procedure done. We will gladly help you with any questions you may have about our professional fees and billing.

Yes, using the information you provided to the hospital or imaging center, ARA will submit the bill to your insurance carriers first.

If you have a secondary insurance company, a claim will be sent to the secondary insurance company after the primary insurance company pays first. You are then required to supply the pertinent billing information that the secondary insurer may require.

Most insurance plans require that you pay a co-payment, coinsurance or deductible for your health care expenses. Please contact your insurance company for further questions about your health care coverage. You may also log into our Patient Portal to ensure you have added your insurance carrier(s).

Our billing office is not located on the hospital campus or center. Therefore, we rely on the hospital or center to send us your updated and correct information. Since the hospital/center is responsible for disseminating information to all providers there can sometimes be a gap in information. We strive to get all the information we need from the hospital but sometimes it is necessary to contact the patient for further clarification.

If you log into the Click2Pay portal with your details, you can find the option to pay your bill. Click2Pay accepts all major credit cards.

Receivables Management Company is our 3rd party patient collection company. We utilize RMG for what we refer to as our soft collection process and our long term bad debt recovery. If you receive a new statement from RMG, it does not mean that we have reported you to one of the credit agencies. It simply means that our normal billing process has not yielded a payment on an overdue account. MSN manages our accounts up to approximately 60 days after insurance has adjudicated the account and then we turn the account over to RMG to manage via their “soft collection process”.
